こんにちは。横浜隼人高等学校国際語科コースの高橋茜・永野梨緒です。
国際語科では、自分たちのニーズに合わせて、留学プランを選択することができますが、昨年度2024年度から新しく、セブ島留学のプログラムがスタートしました。

国際語科では、自分たちのニーズに合わせて、留学プランを選択することができますが、昨年度2024年度から、新しくセブ島留学のプログラムがスタートしました。
私たちは昨年10月に、27日間の「セブ島Global Studies Program」を経て、帰国後、現地の子供たちへの支援をしたいと強く想い、今回クラウドファンディングを立ち上げることとしました。
私たちが向かった先は、セブ島といっても、観光地ではなく、離島や山間部で教育も行き届かない場所です。以下は活動報告資料の一部です。
～活動内容～
異文化交流・ラーニングセンター・クリーンアップ活動
これらは、その地の文化や生活を肌で感じるために必要な活動です。
”ラーニングセンター”とは、スラム街に住んでいる子供たちが集まって、遊んだりする場所です。(日本でいう学童のような場)
ここでは子供たちとのレクとして、絵本の読み聞かせ・折り紙・ダンスゲーム等をしました。
”クリーンアップ活動”では、子どもたちと一緒にゴミ拾い等を行うことで、子供たちにゴミ拾いの必要性を学んでもらいました。
流れ着いてきたプラスチックごみ等、日本にいて目にすることのなかったゴミを実際に拾うことで、改めて海洋汚染についての現状を知り、
ゴミ拾いの重要性を学びました。
マングローブ植林
マングローブはセブの離島の人たちにとって以下の理由で必要不可欠な存在です。
一水質浄化（魚が増え漁業が盛んになり生活を守ることができる）
一防風林の役割（台風などの強風から生活を守ることができる）
一枯れたものが火おこしの燃料として使うことができる
しかし、現在台風やモンスーンなどの自然災害、生活用途による過剰伐採が原因でマングローブの数が減少してきています。そこで私達は、彼らの生活を少しでも守れるように実際にマングローブ植林を行いました。この活動からマングローブがどれだけ現地の人々の生活に密接に関わっているのかを学びました。
ビニール袋に直ではいった少量のお水にストローさしてのんでいたり、衛生状況の悪さにより、体の中に寄生虫がはいってしまうことで成長を妨げられ、8歳くらいの子供でも日本での４～5才程度の身長だったり、ノートをあげると子供たちが集まって取り合いになるくらい、現地の子供たちにとってノートすら珍しいものでした。
子供の学習環境も、2021年の台風被害により崩壊してしまった教室も、支援が行き届かずにそのままになっていたり、教室も足りず、教師も十分にいない、文房具も足りていない状況で、最低限の教育の質さえ担保されていませんでした。
現地の子供たちの未来のために、文房具を届けたいと考えています。
具体的には、
・海洋プラスチック製のボールペン
・野菜から作られたクレヨン
を届けたいです。
海洋プラスチックや野菜など素材にこだわった文房具にすることで、SDGs・持続可能な点についての学び・気づきになってほしいです。
普段の生活ではゴミとなってしまうようなものからも物質が作られているということを知ってもらうことで、環境保全について考えるきっかけになってほしいと思い、選びました。
それに加え、プログラムの体験で述べた通りセブ島の貧困地域に住む子供達は勉強するために使う物資が不足しているため、十分な教育を受けることができていないことが現状にあります。
そこで、今回のクラウドファンディングを通して、文房具を届けることで、子供達の学習の機会を増やすとともに自分たちの住む環境を大切にしてほしいと思っています。
購入した文房具は、私たち国際語科の後輩たちに預け、今年10月に後輩たちが同様にセブ島留学へ行く際に、私たちの想いを引き継いで、直接現地に届けてもらいます。
集まる寄付金額によって、購入できる本数・セット数が変わります。
第一目標：50万円
ボールペン2000本・クレヨン(10色入り)100セット購入し、現地に届けられます。
この場合、クレヨンは人数分ないので、みんなでシェアして使ってもらうことになります。
第二目標：150万円
ボールペン2000本・クレヨン(10色入り)500セット購入し、現地に届けられます。
国際ボランティア団体GoShareさんで支援している子供の人数が500人ほどとのことなので、この金額であればクレヨンも人数分まかなえるくらい、届けることができます。
ボールペンはひとり1本配布後、余剰分をNPO団体に預け、必要に応じて子供たちに配布できるような状態にしていただく想定です。

～環境を理由に勉強を諦めてほしくないです～
私たちが実際に見て来たものは全体の一部に過ぎません。それでも沢山の子供達が学校に行きたい! 学校に行くことが夢！と言っていました。
その夢は私達が直接叶えてあげるのは難しいかもしれないけれど環境を理由に勉強を諦めて欲しくない、夢に一歩でも近づいてほしいと願ってこのプロジェクトを考案しました。私たちが始めたことが周りを巻き込んで現地の子達の未来に少しでも繋げることができればと思っています。ぜひよろしくお願いします！

～持って行った一冊のノートに群がる子供たちとその瞬間が忘れられません～
たくさんの情報が巡る現代社会において、私たちはインターネットでは決して得られない貴重な経験をしました。この経験を通じて、私たちの生活環境のありがたみを痛感し、困難な状況の中でも明るく生活する現地の人々から多くの元気をもらいました。その結果、私たちの人生はこの1ヶ月間で大きく変わりました。
現地の方々に恩返しをしたいという思いから、支援活動を提案しました。
離島を訪れた際には、私が持っていった1冊のノートにそれを見た子どもたちが「私の分はないの？」と尋ねて群がってきました。日本で生まれ育ち、文房具に困ったことがなかった私にとって、子どもたちにとってそれがどれほど価値のあるものであるかを実感しました。この瞬間が忘れられず、新しい文房具を届けたいと考え、クラウドファンディングを通じて支援を行うことにしました。
私たちの1ヶ月の経験が、現地の子どもたちにとって一生分の学びになると信じています。
支援してくださる方には「可哀想」ではなく「頑張って！」という気持ちで支援して頂きたいです

〜自身の「スタート」となった海外経験。想いを込めて始めた活動の意味が生徒たちに伝わり、次世代へ繋がるバトンとなること、感激しています〜
「一人でも多くの生徒に世界を見てほしい」。これが、私がセブ島Global Studies Programを立ち上げた理由です。
私自身、高校時代に１年間の海外留学をし、英語力だけでなくその国の文化や習慣を学びました。海外での生活は非常に刺激的で、もちろん大変なこともありましたが、全て含めて今の自分の「スタート」となっていると思います。
本プログラムでは、３週間の語学学校での英語学習、１週間の社会支援活動を行い、この４週間、生徒は常に英語に触れています。社会支援活動においては、現地のNPO法人「ゴーシェア」の協力の元、語学学校でスキルアップした英語を駆使し活動を行います。情報が溢れているこの世の中で、セブ島が抱えている社会課題に関する情報は、インターネットで簡単に手に入ります。ただ、「実際に足を運ぶ」ことで、現地の方々が直面している課題に関して直接聞いたり、感じたりすることが彼らの経験値となり、より良い次の世代社会創出の為の行動につながっていくのではないか、と考えています。
帰国後、「思い出のまま終わらせてはいけない」と数名のメンバーが主体的に集まり、「何かできることはないか」について、何度も議論を交わしました。
今回のクラウドファンディングはそんな彼らの思いがつまった、「次世代につながるバトン」です。彼ら自身の経験と、今後の参加者の経験をバトンで繋ぎ、持続可能的に支援していこうという考えに、とても感激しております。
支援活動を通して学んだセブ島の現状から、「この先自分には何ができるか」という「問い」に今彼らは直面しています。その問いに答えはありませんが、彼らが思う正解が、セブ島の貧困地域で暮らす子供たちの為になることを切に願い、微力ながら支えていければと思っております。

11月～：帰国後の報告・寄付者への御礼品準備等。
横浜隼人では、生徒が「主体的に行動する」ことが大きなテーマになっています。主体的に行動するとは、「自分の頭で考えて、判断して、責任ある行動をする」ということです。セブ島での研修は昨年度が初の実施でした。現地での研修自体がとても有意義なものであるのは言うまでもないのですが、生徒たちが自らこんな行動に出たというのは大変な驚きであり、非常に嬉しく感じています。
異文化交流の中で衝撃を受け、それに対して自分たちができることが何かを仲間と共に考え、議論し、そして行動に移すことができた、という彼ら彼女らの姿は、あらゆる場面で分断ばかりが目立つ現代社会において、とても輝いて見えます。
この度、Yellzさんのご助言によりこのような機会を頂いたことを大変嬉しく思うと同時に、非常に感謝しております。

We want children in Cebu to give learning places, deliver pens and crayon to them.
We don’t want this experience to end as just” a memory” .
WANT TO LEAD TO THE NEXT GENERATION
Hello, I’m Akane Takahashi and I’m Rio Nagano. We belong to Yokohamahayato high school and department of International Language Course.
We have opportunities to study abroad, and our school started a new international program, study abroad in Cebu island.
As we mentioned above, this is the new program [Global Studies in Cebu island] started 2024, and we 22 students were the first students to join. We stayed in Cebu island for 27 days and spent our time studying English in a Language School, joining volunteer activities.
As we worked with NPO Go Share ,
We strongly thought we want to do something for children in Cebu, and we decided to start this crowd funding.
We went to Cebu Island known for good sightseeing place.
However, we visited isolated islands, where children cannot receive enough education.

〜activities〜
International exchange, learning centre, clean-up activity
These are integral activities for them to feel the culture and the life there directly.
‘Learning centre’ is a place children living in slum area gather and playing games together.
We read picture books and folded origami and also played dancing game with them.
In “clean-up activity”, we did picked trash up with them.
They realized a necessity to pick up trash with us.
By picking up trash that we had never seen before in Japan, such as plastic trash washed ashore, the participants learned about the current state of marine pollution and the importance of picking up trash.
Planting mangrove
Mangrove is necessary for people in Cebu for the following reasons.
ーpurification of water quality
ーshelterbelt
ーbe used fuel for making a fire
However, the number of mangrove is decreasing lately for these reasons, natural disasters such as typhoons and monsoon and over-harvesting of mangrove.
Therefore, we planted mangrove to protect their lives even if it is little.
They drink a little water putting in plastic bag and with straw.
Due to poor sanitary condition, parasites sprouted in their bellies even one of them who is at the age of about 8 has only the hight as 4~5
Years old comparing to the average of Japanese children.
Also, stationary id so rare for them that they fought over a notebook.
Their learning circumstance is not enough to study that their school’s room broken by a typhoon in2021 has not fixed up until now because the aid is not thorough and the class room remains as it is in 2021.
Even the minimum necessary quality of education is not guaranteed there.

We want to deliver children in Cebu stationary!!
Specifically, we want to deliver
Pens made of ocean plastic wastes
Crayon made of vegetables
To them.
Why we chose these stationery
We want children to notice and learn about the point of SDGs and sustainable to send the stationary that made from ocean plastic and expired vegetables.
Furthermore, we hope that children in Cebu know about materials that created by trash in our daily lives ,and this will encourage them to think about environmental preservation.
As we stated above, children living in slum area are suffering from lack of stationary,and they cannot be educated enough.
So, through this crowd funding, we hope that delivering these gives children not only opportunities for studying but also learning their environment where they live.
Stationery we will buy will be entrusted 2nd generation and they are going to deliver them to the children directly.
How many pens and crayon we can buy depends on how much support we can receive.
1st goal : 500,000yen
2,000 pens and 100 crayon(10 colors 1 set)
In this case, crayon will be divided into some children because a number of crayon we can buy is not enough.
2nd goal: 1,500,000yen
2,000pen and 500 crayon(10 colors 1 set)
Go share, NPO group supports about 500 children .
So we can send pens also crayons for the number of children.
We plan pens will be given out each of child and the amount left is saved by Goshare and they will distribute them to children as needed.
We try sustainable support not one-time support.

〜I want them to think like “Yes, I Can!! With our supports.〜
What we saw in Cebu is just a part of all, but a lot of children told me “I want to study!” ,”to study is my dream!!”
It might be difficult to make these dreams come true directly. We established this project hoping that i don’t want them to give up study owing to their environment which they live in and to get close to their dreams.
We hope what we have been doing involve others and connect to realization of their dreams.

〜One note book with tens of children Never forget the suituation〜
In today’s world where a lot of information is circulating, we had precious experiences that we never get on the internet.
Through this experience, I felt deeply how grateful our living environment ,and we gained a lot of energy from local people who live cheerfully despite of the difficulties they face.
As a result, our lives had changed for a month after study abroad.
We present this project from wish that we want to give back to them.
When we visited remote island , a lot of children saw one notebook and surrounded it and had asked me [ Where is mine?]. That was so surprising for me, raised in Japan and never had problems of stationary. Then I strongly realized that how worthy it is for them. I cannot forget that moment and decided to deliver new stationary for them through this crowd funding.
I believe that our action through this experience for one month will become a lifetime of learning for them.

〜the overseas experience that marked the beginning of my journey. I’m impressed with our thought was understood by people around us and it became the “baton” for the next generation. 〜
[ I want more students to see the world.] this is why I established Global Studies Program in Cebu(GSP).
I went abroad for study when i was high school student and learned not only English skills but also the culture and conventional customs there. Life overseas was of course hard for me but very exciting. This experience was the start of who I am now.
In this program, students learn English for 3 weeks, do volunteer activity for a week. For this 4 weeks, they always used English everywhere. They utilized English improved and associated with NPO corporation [Go share]. Today in the world, we can know about issues that happens in Cebu easily on the Internet. But taking action by themselves for learning problems people in Cebu face and feeling these things became their experiences. I think that will connect to the better action for the next creation of the world.
After back in Japan, some students who thought [ I want to do something for them] gathered and discuss what we can do.
This crowd funding is like a “baton” for the next generation filled with our thoughts and feelings.
I’m impressed with their idea to support sustainably.
Students are facing the question “What we can do next?”. The answer lies in them. I want them to keep challenging even though they face a big step to overcome. I will support them even if it might be a little.

Acting proactivity is the main theme in this school. It means [think by myself ,judge myself ,behave responsibility].
This overseas program was the first time last year.Nothing to say, what they learned there was sufficient, I was amazed and happy that they take action by themselves.
We learned a lot from the cross-cultural exchange, thought about what we could do about it with our colleagues, discussed it, and then took action. In today’s society, where there is so much division in every aspect of life, what they are trying to do tells us how important to be connected with people. I am so proud of them.
